To enable edge erase on Sharp copiers for copying or scanning books or when the lid is up, follow these steps:
Place the Original:
Place the document in the automatic document feeder (ADF) or on the document glass. This is the area where shadows are likely to form, especially with books or when the lid is up.
Access the Erase Function:
Tap the [Others] key, and then tap the [Erase] key. This opens the options for different erase modes.
Choose the Erase Mode:
You can select from the following options:
Outer Frame Erase: Erases the outer edges of the copy to remove shadows.
Center Erase: Useful for book copying, erasing the center shadow caused by the book's spine.
Edge + Center Erase: Erases both outer frame and center shadow.
Side Erase: Erases specific sides (top, bottom, left, or right).
Set the Erase Width:
After selecting the mode, set the erase width to remove the shadows. The default erase width can be adjusted in "Settings (administrator)" > [System Settings] > [Copy Settings] > [Condition Settings] > [Erase Width Adjustment]. You can set it from 0" (0 mm) to 1" (25 mm) in increments of 1/8" (3 mm).
Start Copying or Scanning:
Once the erase mode and width are set, tap the [Color Start] or [B/W Start] key to start the copying or scanning process.
